Farah Khan explores the myriad flavours of Dubai and guides our taste buds to the right places
Our comfort food will always be our own Desi food, I know most of you will agree with me on this. Went to this amazing place called Punjabi Dhaba recently. Located in Karama, this place seems like a small Punjab in the middle of Dubai, with colourful décor, beautiful furniture & amazing artwork on the walls. The food & the service is just perfect over there. They served us the best of their menu & we enjoyed it to the core.
We started with the masala papad, which is papad served with some onions, tomatoes, & chillies on top. A perfect Indian pre-starter. We also tried their Dhaba special soup.
Followed by starters, we had, Hara Bhara Kebab, Achari Paneer Tikka, Ajwaini Fish Tikka, Bhatti Da Murg.
Though it was really tough to choose from the menu as everything looked delicious, we decided to go with the chef selection, he served us, Sarson ka Saag with Makai ke roti, which was a killer combination which no one can say no to along with Daal Tadka, which is an amazing dish, that can compliment any other dish. We also had Paneer Amritsari, Dhaba Chicken, and Mutton Rogan josh.
We ordered the special Dhaba roti basket to accompany all these amazing main courses. In this huge basket, you get to taste butter naan, stuffed besan tandoori paratha, garlic naan, tandoori roti & lachcha paratha as well.
Not to forget the delicious Dhaba Special Chicken Biryani which comes along with raita and salad.
From the drinks, we tried the Mango Lassi, Sweet Lassi, Masala Chaas and Jalzeera, not to be missed is their huge Punjabi lassi. Lastly, we tried their signature gud waali chai, which a must try.
Just amazingly amazing!
Ended the meal with some desserts of course. Had the yummilicious Chane ke daal ka halwa and Gulab Jamun. Also tried the pista kulfi which was the only thing that was not up to the mark.
Definitely a highly recommendable place.
Thanks a lot Mr Amanjeet for inviting us and thanks to the whole team of @punjabidhaba.dubai especially Jasdeep, Shagun & Anjali for hosting us.
