Abhishek Banerjee, the actor from Stree 2 , is enjoying the success of his recent Friday release, which is performing exceptionally well at the box office. In a recent interview with News18, he revealed that he’s now receiving offers to play lead roles, a shift from the tight, low-budget roles he was previously offered. He mentioned getting three such offers last week and expressed excitement about selecting his next projects, emphasizing the importance of entertaining the audience.
Discussing the box office competition between Vedaa and Stree 2 , Abhishek described the experience as bittersweet. He praised Nikkhil Advani’s direction of Vedaa and noted its 60 percent occupancy in metro cities, with audiences clapping during the climax. However, he acknowledged that Stree 2 has become a massive success, surpassing expectations. He likened it to a “Godzilla” in the industry due to its popularity as a sequel, with audiences already connected to its characters.
In Stree 2, Abhishek reprises his role as Janna, alongside Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi. The film, a sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree, received positive reviews and entered the ₹250 crore club within six days of release. The story continues to follow Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, and his friends as they confront a new supernatural threat, a headless ghost named Sarkata.
