The Government of Bangladesh has decided to facilitate the issuance of long-term visas for students from the Maldives.
Previously, students and interns in Bangladesh had to renew their visas every year and faced many difficulties in obtaining visas.
However, with the decision of the Government of Bangladesh, students will be able to apply for a visa for the duration of the course without any further problems in obtaining a visa.
This decision will provide long-term visas for Maldivian students to study in Bangladesh and do internships at universities and colleges recognized by the government of the country to stay in the country for the duration of their studies.
This arrangement will bring relief to Maldivian students who are studying in Bangladesh and who intend to study and practice in the country in the future.

The 2021 visits of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Vice President Faisal Naseem and Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid to Bangladesh discussed the matter with Bangladeshi officials.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also mentioned this issue during his visit to the Maldives.
