Expo 2020 Dubai’s Street Music series saw four Filipino celebrities, Lyca Gairanod, Kim Molina, Nadine Lustre and Billy Crawford, take to the Earth Plaza on Friday (25 February) for a one-time heart-stopping dance concert.
After winning The Voice: Kids in 2014, Lyca Gairanod shot to fame before taking a break to focus on her studies. She is now back in the limelight as a performer and vlogger.
Having spent a large part of her childhood in Saudi Arabia, Kim Molina is a familiar face in the Middle East, began performing at a young age, and has won multiple singing competitions.
Billy Crawford burst onto the music scene with his international single ‘Trackin’, and since his 2005 single, ‘Bright Lights’, his popularity has grown with his unmistakable songs and dance routines.
A multi-award-winning actress and performer, Nadine Lustre is known for her roles in TV series On the Wings of Love, and the movies Never Not Love You, Ulan and Indak.
The quartet burst onto the stage with a powerful cover of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’, as well as ‘I Got a Feeling’ by the Black Eyed Peas, before their individual performances in Tagalog and English. Standout numbers included Gairanod covering Rihanna’s ‘Where Have You Been?’, and Molina belting out Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’. Crawford performed ‘Headed For the Stars’ from his new album, moving through the crowd as he completed his line-up. Lustre wrapped the individual performances with Madison Beer’s ‘Follow the White Rabbit’.
The concert closed with the whole team coming together for a riveting finale.
Onlookers danced, cheered, swayed, and took plenty of photos to upload with #ExpoStreetMusic to stand a chance to win a dinner for two.
