Kuwaiti moon-sighting committees announced that Friday, April 21 is Eid Al Fitr 2023.
Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said that the committees sighted the crescent moon of Shawwal this evening.
Shawwal is the tenth month in the Islamic calendar, marking the end of Ramadan.
The Eid Al Fitr holiday in Kuwait’s public sector will take place from April 21-25. All ministries and governmental bodies get benefit from the holiday.
Work will resume on April 26, while agencies with a special nature will determine their Eid holiday by the competent bodies to take into consideration the public interest,” KUNA reported on April 10.
Muslims across the world start Eid day by performing morning prayers in mosques. Prayers are typically followed by families gathering around the first morning breakfast table after a month of fasting.
In Gulf countries, families traditionally exchange presents and eat delicious meals to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
