Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush has been making headlines ever since its release.
Adipurush has mired into controversies for multiple reasons. The film faced criticism for its poor VFX, dialogues and costumes.
For the uninitiated, Adipurush and other Hindi films banned in Nepal a few days ago.
However, Nepal has now lifted the ban on Hindi films, including Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush.
The court further requested the authorities to not stop any screening of movies that have passed by the censor board of the country.
However, even though Nepal court lifted the ban, Kathmandu Mayor expressed anger over it.
A line from Adipurush on Sita had caused the controversy. A dialogue from Prabhas starrer mentions Sita (played by Kriti Sanon) as ‘India’s daughter’ and it didn’t go down well.
Kathmadu Mayor Balendra Shah said that he is ready to face punishment but will not let Prabhas starrer screen in theatres across Nepal.
Balendra Shah further added that the matter has a lot to do with ‘Nepal’s sovereignty and independence’ which he cannot let down.
Despite negative reviews, Adipurush has managed to cross Rs 400 crores globally at the box office.
On its first day, Prabhas starrer collected Rs 140 crore. After two days, Adipurush performed poorly at the box office. Om Raut has directed Adipurush.
