Global pop sensation Ed Sheeran is gearing up for a comeback to India next year. The 32-year-old artist is scheduled to perform in Mumbai as part of his 2024 Mathematics Asia Tour on March 16.
In an exciting twist, Ed Sheeran ‘s India leg of the tour, co-produced by Book My Show, will serve as the grand finale of the entire tour. General ticket sales for Sheeran’s concert, set to take place at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, will kick off on October 27, 2023, with pre-sales starting on October 25.
This marks Sheeran’s third visit to Mumbai and India, following his appearances in 2015 and 2017. Fans of Sheeran in the country eagerly await the announcement, anticipating it to generate significant excitement.
The concert will be a highlight of the exciting 2023 lineup, which includes performances by renowned acts such as The Strokes, Jackson Wang, The Backstreet Boys, and the Irish pop group Westlife, scheduled for November 2023.
Ed Sheeran’s upcoming Asia tour dates mark his return to the region since 2019, with European shows following his successful stint there last year. The news follows his record-breaking USA tour, during which Sheeran set attendance records at venues like Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium and New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, with the latter hosting the largest single-day concert attendance in the USA’s history.
In 2023, the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist released two successful albums, “Subtract” and “Autumn Variations.” These albums, released in May and September, garnered critical acclaim. Sheeran collaborated with Aaron Dessner, the guitarist from the American rock band The National, on both records. His two-hour concert will feature tracks from all his albums since 2011, including “+,” “X,” “÷,” “=”, and the new album “Subtract.” Additionally, he will perform songs from the 2019 release “No. 6 Collaborations Project,” such as “Blow.”
