Salman Khan eagerly anticipates the Diwali release of Tiger 3, setting the stage for a spectacular opening this Sunday. The film, positioned as the first big-budget release for Diwali, reveals promising advance booking numbers, suggesting it will bring grandeur to cinemas. According to a Sacnilk.com report, the film has already amassed ₹15.58 crore on its opening day. This success comes as a welcome relief following the underwhelming performance of Salman’s Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
The film has seen an impressive sale of over 5,86,650 tickets, encompassing 5,49,988 tickets for the Hindi 2D version, 21,049 tickets for the Telugu 2D version, and 3098 tickets for the Tamil shows. The IMAX 2D version of the film is also generating significant interest, with 9554 tickets sold for day 1.
Tiger 3 not only brings back Katrina Kaif as Zoya but also introduces Emraan Hashmi as the lead antagonist. Heightening the anticipation, rumors circulate that Hrithik Roshan, reprising his role as Kabir from War, and Shah Rukh Khan from Pathaan may make cameo appearances in the film.
Sanjeev Kumar Bijli
Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd., predicts Tiger 3 to rake in close to ₹40 crore on Diwali. Speaking to PTI, he stated, “The advances are phenomenal. It’s all right on trend, as we expect as far as the Diwali release is concerned. Traditionally, Diwali has been a very important and a highly coveted date for producers to release their films. For decades, big films have been released on Diwali and almost all of them end up doing well as that is a time when people are out and about, the disposable income is available to entertain themselves.”
The release of Tiger 3 on Diwali also coincides with the India vs Netherlands World Cup match. According to Bijli, “Audiences find their kind of time, if they don’t come on Sunday then they come on Monday or Tuesday, which are also holidays. Keeping all of this in mind, I think the industry expectation for this film is ₹40 crore, which is a big number.”
