TOKYO (JAPAN) – Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike on Monday exhorted the 14 million residents in the capital to remain at home during the holiday season to stem the spread of the pandemic in the wake of the city witnessing record surge in the number of cases in recent days.
“I would like people to prioritise life above everything else in this year-end and new-year periods,” Koike said.
“I do hope whole families will stay home during the holiday season.”
