DUBAI – Audience members at Expo 2020’s Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre were treated to a colourful performance of traditional Hungarian music, as well as dances performed by 20 children on Monday evening.
The children are all winners of dance competitions organised by the Örökség National Children and Youth Folk Heritage Association in Hungary.
Accompanied by three musicians – a bassist and two violinists – who provided a lively folk music soundtrack, the performers, wearing traditional outfits, showed off their dancing skills.
Hungarian folk music is an integral component of the country’s national identity.
The Örökség Association organises solo dance competitions annually. It also holds the National Solo Dance Festival of Children Folk Dancers every second year.
